Tracking pixels in emails at HER September 29, 2026 17:47 Updated As part of our commitment to transparency, this article explains what tracking pixels are, why we use them in the marketing emails we send you, and how you can control that use. What is a tracking pixel?A tracking pixel is a small, usually invisible image embedded in an email. When you open one of our emails, it loads that image and sends a request back to our servers, which tells us that the email was opened, when, and on what kind of device. Does HER use tracking pixels?Yes. HER uses tracking pixels (alongside tags) solely in its marketing emails we send to the email address you provide during your registration. We use them for the purposes described below, and each one is either based on your consent or limited to what's strictly needed to manage our mailing lists responsibly. What does HER use tracking pixels for?Keeping our mailing lists “healthy”. We use tracking pixels to check whether emails are open so we can spot delivery problems and avoid sending emails to addresses that never open our messages. We are doing this to keep our database relevant and clean it by deleting inactive addresses.Measuring and improving our communications. We look at whether emails are opened, when, and from what kind of device, to understand whether our campaigns are actually reaching and engaging people. This helps us decide whether the events, connections, or content we're featuring are genuinely landing, rather than just guessing.Personalizing what we show you. We use what you open (and what you don't) to learn what you're interested in, so we can curate the offers, highlights, and recommendations we send you. Can I refuse the use of tracking pixels in emails?Yes, with some limitations. In France and Italy, using tracking pixels for anything beyond keeping our mailing lists functional is optional. If you do not wish to receive marketing emails containing tracking pixels, you can opt out.How do I give or modify my consent? We will first ask for your consent on a dedicated screen following your registration. Then, you can review and change your choices at any time in the app, under Settings > Push Settings > Marketing Communications > Receive emails.
