Places October 08, 2026 19:08 Updated What are Places? 📍Places let you add up to three spots you love, miss, or want to try to your profile: a museum you could wander for hours, an aquarium you love, a historic landmark with a view worth the trip. They're a way to show a little more of your world and give people an easy way to start a conversation. How do I add a place?Go to Edit Profile and tap Places, or tap “+” on the Places section of someone else's profile if you haven't added any yet.Choose a prompt, like "Let's go on a date to" or "Somewhere I'd take you." Each prompt can only be used once.Enter a place. Type the name in the search bar, then tap it in the results to select it. For the best results, we recommend having location services on so places near you show up first. The list narrows as you type.Hide the place name (optional). Turn on Hide place name until matched if you'd like people to see only the type of place until you match. It's off by default, so your place name shows unless you turn this on.Tap Save. Add up to three, and tap Done when you're finished. What does "Hide place name until matched" do? 👀This toggle controls what people see before you match. You set it for each place.Toggle off (default): People see the place's full name, like "Pearl Bar."Toggle on: People see only the type of place, like "a bar," with a note that the name is revealed when you match.Once you match, your match can see the full names of your places. If you'd like to keep a favorite spot private until you've matched, turn the toggle on. Are you seeing "a bar" instead of a location name on someone's profile? You'll see it once you both match. What happens to my places after we match? When you match with someone, they can see the full names of all your places, including any you chose to hide until matched. Your matches always see your current places. If you edit or delete a place, they'll see the change. If you turn the toggle on after matching, it won't hide that place from people you've already matched with, and that includes any new place you add later. You're always in control. You can delete any place from your profile at any time, and you can unmatch with someone whenever you want.If you unmatch with someone, any places you hid until matched go back to showing only the type of place, like "a bar." If you match again later, they'll see the full names again. Can I change or delete a place?Yes. Go to Edit Profile → Places. Tap a place to edit it, or tap X to delete it (we'll ask you to confirm). You can delete all of your places if you'd like. You can also add them back later. Can I send someone an Intro Note about a place? 💌Yes! If someone's place catches your eye, tap the send icon next to it and write an Intro Note. It goes to them along with your like, so they'll know exactly what you're responding to.Are Places safe to share? We built Places so you decide how much to share and when. You always choose your own places. We never use your location history or add anything automatically. You can hide the name of any place until you match. You can only add public venues like cafés, bars, parks, museums, and bookstores, never a home address.Places on your profile can help someone get to know you, but sharing a spot you visit regularly may also help them identify you or predict where to find you. Think twice before adding a place near your home, workplace, school, or somewhere you routinely go alone. If you ever see a place that feels off, or someone's behavior makes you uncomfortable, you can report them from their profile.
